TEXT OF PRESS RELEASE:

On November 14, at the Bilbao headquarters of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work EU-OSHA and in the presence of Yolanda Diaz Perez (Second Vice-President and Minister of Labor and Social Economy of the Spanish government) and Dragos Pislaru (Chairman of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Parliament), ErgoCert - Ergonomic Certification Body of Udine, as a technical partner of Servizi Italia Spa collected the "Good Practice Award - Let's Lighten the Load! " of the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2020-2022 promoted by EU-OSHA. The award was collected by Prof. Francesco Marcolin, Certified European Ergonomist, Founder and Managing Director of ErgoCert and Professor of Ergonomics at the University of Design ISIA Rome, who commented, "This award is the most prestigious European recognition in the field of ergonomics and represents the crowning achievement of twenty years of activity carried out by ErgoCert in the field of ergonomics, which has led our company (formerly Spin Off of the University of Udine) to become the only Accredited Certification Body for Ergonomics at the international level. I believe that also for Friuli-Venezia Giulia and for Italy this represents a value in the complex world of Occupational Safety.
From the very beginning, we have placed research and innovation in ergonomics at the center of all our activities in order to apply technological solutions trying to find solutions applicable to the real production problems of our national and international clients. And the Good Practice Award rewards precisely the applicability of our approach, which from today can be used by numerous companies in different production contexts.Today, our very young technical team, led by Dr. Marco Bordignon, reaps the fruits of twenty years of work developed by a Friulian Company, which started as an Academic Spin-off of the University of Udine under the scientific supervision of Prof. Guglielmo Antonutto, known for his research in the physiological field on Russian cosmonauts of the MIR in the team of prof. Pietro Enrico di Prampero, and since 2014, has been recognized by the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia as a “Highly qualified facility in usability testing and ergonomic research, evaluation and certification of products and workplaces. ”With the 2018 international accreditation for the certification of ergonomic products and processes ACCREDIA (an entity designated by the Italian government), we have made a further quality leap.
To date, we have issued almost 1,000 certificates to domestic, but mostly international companies (French, German, Swedish, Norwegian, American, Swiss, etc.) and carried out more than 2,500 ergonomic assessments for clients such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Ducati, Electrolux Professional (Sweden-France-Italy), Trenitalia, Dyson Ltd, De Longhi, Braun, Vileda, Alstom, Natuzzi, to name a few. I am very happy about this award especially for the guys in my team who make an extraordinary effort every day to improve our sensor technologies and to develop new methods of ergonomic evaluation, that is, as the first principle of Quality states: to improve every day a little bit. This award belongs especially to them."

EU-OSHA AWARD NEWS
The Ergonomic Good Practice proposals were evaluated by two independent juries: the Italian one by INAIL (which selected two candidates out of 18 participants) and the European one by EU-OSHA (which chose among 38 proposals from 22 EU countries, Efta-See, Western Balkans, Turkey). EU-OSHA rewarded the innovative methods of instrumental ergonomic risk assessment (Motion Capture associated with ErgoCert Analyzer Software) developed by the Friuli-based company, as well as the risk management and containment activities achieved through technical-plant, organizational adjustments and “on-the-job” training used to increase the involvement and awareness of all employees present in the various Italian plants of Servizi Italia Spa. The international jury considered the Good Practice not only valid in order to bring demonstrable improvements in relation to work-related musculoskeletal disorders, but also sustainable and transferable, that is, truly applicable and effective in all work contexts.
